October in MN

WOW,Jim and Brooke- the photos were amazing!! Looks like you had a wonderful weekend- could almost feel the mountain air!

Due to the Seattle-like weather here in MN (rain), we haven't had the usual intensity of fall colors. In fact- we haven't even had a frost yet, so we harvested the last tomatoes from the garden today! Good thing it isn't too cold yet, because our 27 year old furnace finally died this morning! Last month it was the stove- now the furnace....do things happen in 3's???

This week, I went down to Mankato and did a fund raiser with my business-and stopped for pumpkins along the way. It was a treat to get out of the city...and I love to drive in the rural areas! Stayed with our friends, Muriel and Al Schoon, which is like being with family! Muriel is like a mom-older sister....right down to reminding me to put on lipstick!

Thanks, Charlie, for all the great family photos from the reunion! What a fun time that was...thank you, one and all for your efforts at making it so magical!

Recent Photos from Larch Lake Hike

Hi Familia!

Thought I would share these photos for my first post. Carter thanks for setting up the blog! Click on the link below to view photos from our hike this past weekend to Larch Lake located in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. We spent the weekend at Scottish Lakes High Camp with my parents and good friends and Wisconsin natives Dave and Betsy Cook. Although we were a couple weeks early to see the larch trees in all their yellow glory, we did get to enjoy some vine maple and huckleberry foliage. Happy fall!

Hill Family Reunion August 07

Sunday, September 23, 2007

Hello

Just a quick note about how to get an individual account for this blog for those who are interested.

You got an invitation e-mail from Carter at the beginning of September (not the first e-mail about this blog) to join this blog as an individual author. Here's how to do it...

1. Follow the link in that invitation e-mail. You will be asked for your Gmail accounts (you have to have a Gmail account to create an individual account on this blog. Gmail accounts can be useful in other ways too, so it's not a bad thing to sign up for.)
2. If you don't have the Gmail account, follow the Google/Gmail link by Sign In for this blog to create the Gmail account.
3. Next time you log into this blog, use the username and password for that Gmail account.

Boston is getting colder. We went to Haymarket yesterday and got 4 pounds of tomatoes, 2 pounds of potatoes, 3 onions, 5 cucumbers, 1 lb feta cheese, 5 bagels, Armenian bread, 8 garlic heads, 5 Cuban peppers, and 10 lbs of strawberries - yes, we were a little too excited but we only spent $20 for all these food!

We made strawberry jam from 7 lbs of strawberries this afternoon and the kitchen is sticky everywhere. Somehow I got the jam on my back as well. We're now roasting the garlic in the oven...we'll see how it turns out. If you have any ideas how to cook all these foods, let us know!

September in MN

Hi there.... just wondering where all the young ones in the family are? Isn't blogging for them? This is a new venue and adventure for me-and if Andy can do it, so can I!

Our Badgers won last night! It's 80 degrees out today- so I'm off to the garden for some fall clean up and weeding. We have to rotate this next year - but we've had a huge crop of tomatoes, peppers and basil. Canning is our specialty- especially at night!

Not too much news here; Curt turned 59 with humor and grace; we also celebrated our 22 anniversay this month. Looking forward to the cruise in 2009. Should we use this blog for communication on this subject?? Merry
